I started my career as a business analyst and decided early that I wanted to dedicate myself to becoming a world-class business analyst. Gaining certification in business analysis was one of the first major steps in my journey of coursework, training, mentorship, professional certifications, and experience in the field.
Through opportunities to work with firms on my early projects, I discovered user experience design. I became fascinated by the work and excited to learn more. I started by studying different aspects of user experience design that I felt would best fill the skill gaps of my teams when we didn’t have the luxury of a UX consulting budget.
The pursuit of that UX training led to a master’s degree in user experience design and becoming the UX lead for my team. From there, I grew into my role as the User Experience Strategist for my organization where I was responsible for developing and implementing user experience best practices from strategy to execution and implementation.
In my journey, I discovered I am passionate about helping others grow and succeed. I have started and led several growth and development initiatives where I facilitated training and development in business analysis, user experience design, and agile best practices for all business analysts in the department. I have even coached and trained several teams in our company’s annual fitness challenges (and won a few times).
If I had to sum up myself and my career briefly, I would say I am passionate about continuous positive growth for myself and the people around me.
